Pricing Methodology

Full transparency on data sources, calculations, refresh frequency, and known limitations.

1. Spot price source

We obtain real-time spot gold (XAU/USD), silver (XAG/USD), platinum (XPT/USD), and palladium (XPD/USD) from institutional market-data providers benchmarked against LBMA and COMEX feeds. Updates flow in continuously during market hours (Sunday 22:00 UTC to Friday 22:00 UTC).

2. Karat conversion

From the per-troy-ounce USD price we compute per-gram prices for the standard purities:

  • 24K = 99.9% × (USD per oz ÷ 31.1035)
  • 22K = 91.6% × 24K per gram
  • 21K = 87.5% × 24K per gram
  • 18K = 75.0% × 24K per gram

3. Currency conversion

USD prices are converted to local currencies using live FX rates refreshed every 60 seconds. AED is pegged to USD at ~3.6725; SAR, KWD, QAR, OMR, BHD use live mid-market rates from regulated FX providers.

4. Refresh frequency

Prices update every minute on price pages. Charts use rolling 1-hour, 1-day, 7-day, 30-day, 1-year and 5-year datasets stored in our historical archive.

5. Known limitations

  • Indicative bullion prices only — excludes making charges, dealer margins, taxes and VAT.
  • Brief stale data possible during provider outages (we surface a stale indicator when detected).
  • Weekend prices are the last close from the previous Friday until Sunday's market reopen.
